Nicholas Marsh (UK) ick has a fascination with the British Neolithic period monuments when people created sort of interfaces between land and sky. He uses slabs made of a variety of clays. Decorative techiques like sgraffito carvings and coloured slips create lively textural surfaces. The work is fired on low temperatures, smoked, pitfired, raku or a combination of the three. Sometimes 22pct. gold leaf and semi precious stones are added and a bees wax coating finishes the work.Click for more work of Nicholas Marsh at Toon Thijs Ceramics Studio |
