Stan Linssen (The Netherlands)
Stans figures are representations of abstract human characteristics and therefore not portraits of real people. The search of mankind for power, ideals or dreams is the leading principle. But at the same time the impossibility of living up to those standards is shown. It makes the figures still, helpless, reflective, humorous or ironic. The figures are built up by hand out of slabs of clay, coloured with engobes and glazes.
